Carla Wiseman DTCM, R. Ac.

Dr. Carla Wiseman began her career in healthcare as a Registered Massage Therapist before pursuing her Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which she has practiced for more than two decades. Her clinical path has been shaped by a lifelong commitment to understanding the body through both traditional frameworks and integrative, evolving approaches to care.

Carla brings a broad and diverse clinical background to her practice, with experience in acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a range of integrative modalities developed through decades of continuing education. Her work is guided by curiosity, clinical observation, and a deep interest in how the body organizes, adapts, and responds to stress, injury, and imbalance.

A central focus of her current practice is a technique known as the NeuroIntegrative System (NIS), which she uses as part of a broader treatment approach to support regulation of the nervous system and functional balance within the body. In many cases, acupuncture may also be included as part of care, depending on individual presentation and clinical need.

Carla’s work spans a wide range of health concerns, including chronic pain, digestive health, systemic imbalance, immune-related conditions, and complex presentations that require a whole-person approach. A significant part of her practice is also dedicated to supporting children and families, informed by additional training in pediatric acupuncture and early-life health conditions.

She has completed specialized studies in children’s health, fertility, allergies, and manual and cranial approaches to treatment, along with additional training in Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) and allergy desensitization systems such as BioSET. These experiences have contributed to a clinical style that is integrative, adaptive, and responsive to each patient’s unique needs.

Rather than focusing on a single method, Carla’s approach is centred on observation and responsiveness—selecting tools based on how the body is presenting in the moment and what will best support balance, ease, and regulation.

Carla’s work is grounded in the belief that healing is a process of restoration and reorganization—one that involves the whole person rather than isolated symptoms. Her goal is to support clarity in the system, greater ease in the body, and improved capacity for health and resilience over time.

She is currently available for treatment at Edgemont Massage Therapy on Tuesday mornings and at her Vancouver practice on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and select Saturdays.
