David Veenstra, Clinic Owner & Registered Massage Therapist
For nearly two decades, David has been privileged to care for patients within the Edgemont community, building lasting relationships founded on trust, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to helping people move and feel their best. Today, as the new owner of the clinic, he considers it an honour to continue the legacy established and to carry forward the values that have made this clinic a trusted part of the community for more than 36 years.
David believes that healing is rarely about simply treating where it hurts. It begins by understanding how the body has adapted over time and creating the conditions for lasting change. Built on connection, David takes the time to listen, understand the individual behind the symptoms, and create a treatment plan that supports both immediate relief and long-term health. His goal is to help people return to the activities that bring meaning to their lives, whether that’s competing in sport, keeping up with their children, exploring the mountains, or simply moving through daily life with greater ease.
Every treatment is guided by careful assessment, clinical experience, and genuine curiosity about the interconnected relationship between movement, fascia, the nervous system, and the lived experiences we carry within our bodies. His intention is to help patients move beyond temporary relief toward meaningful, lasting well-being—supporting health that extends far beyond the treatment table.
Over the course of his career, David has pursued extensive continuing education with a focus on mobility, fascial health, movement rehabilitation, and performance-based care. His treatments integrate deep tissue massage, myofascial techniques, movement assessment, and rehabilitative strategies to improve function, restore balance, and support sustainable recovery.
While David has developed a strong reputation for working with athletes and active individuals, his approach extends far beyond sports performance. He recognizes that the body carries the imprint of life’s experiences, and that physical tension is often influenced by stress, compensation patterns, emotional experiences, and the nervous system’s protective responses.
His work is guided by both clinical reasoning and intuition—an ability developed through thousands of hours of hands-on practice. By observing how different systems of the body interact, David looks beyond isolated symptoms to understand the deeper patterns contributing to pain and restriction. This whole-person perspective allows him to support not only improved movement, but also a greater sense of ease, resilience, and connection within the body.
Outside the clinic, David continues to live the active lifestyle he encourages in his patients. A lifelong athlete, he has competed in volleyball and amateur bodybuilding, cycled across Canada, enjoyed open-water swimming, and now trains regularly in CrossFit. His personal experience with performance, recovery, and injury gives him a practical understanding of the physical and mental demands placed on active bodies.
Whether working with competitive athletes, weekend adventurers, or individuals simply wanting to move comfortably again, David is passionate about helping people build strength, confidence, and longevity through thoughtful, individualized care.

“The weekend of my first massage with him, I ended up having the fastest bike split by almost a minute and a half in the North Shore Sprint. After that I was sold. I went to see Dave the week before every race last season and also saw him after my big training weekends. Aside from giving a really good sport specific massage, I have also found Dave to be a very useful source of information. I’ve asked him about how to deal with different aches and pains and he was always able to provide me with some great insight and methods on how to address them.” ~ Dylan Gleeson | Triathlete

“He consistently asked for feedback on the pressure. He asked appropriate questions, gave advice that fell within his knowledge parameters and delivered a perfect massage which achieved the goal I had for it. He did more listening than talking and when he spoke, he spoke about things he was qualified to speak about. He did the exact job he was hired for. Bravo.” ~ Meyrick Jones | ParaTriathlete, ParaCyclist, and Para Nordic athlete.
